Termites are social insects. They live in massive underground colonies and spend their entire lives foraging for food to bring back to their "family." The Trelona system uses this very behavior—their strength—as their ultimate weakness.

1. Constant Monitoring

I install Trelona stations around the perimeter of your home. These stations are low-profile and sit flush with the ground. Inside each station is a highly compressed, purified cellulose bait. This isn't just "wood"—it is a scientifically formulated food source that termites find incredibly appetizing.

2. The Recruitment Phase

Subterranean termites are blind and forage randomly through the soil. When a scout termite finds a Trelona station, it marks the path with pheromones (a chemical trail). This tells the rest of the colony, "I’ve found a massive, high-quality food source!" Suddenly, the colony’s focus shifts from searching for your home to feeding on the station.

3. The "Slow-Acting" Secret

The bait inside Trelona contains an active ingredient that doesn't kill the termite instantly. This is intentional. If it killed them on contact, the colony would realize the area is dangerous and avoid it.

Instead, the workers eat the bait and carry it back to the colony. Through their natural grooming and feeding habits, they share the bait with every other member of the nest—including the larvae, the soldiers, and the Queen.

4. Colony Elimination

The active ingredient is a growth inhibitor. It prevents termites from molting (the process of shedding their skin to grow). Because they can't molt, they cannot survive. As the workers die off, the Queen is left without a food supply. The result? Complete colony collapse.

The "Pros" of the Trelona ATBS System

Why do I choose Trelona over other options? It comes down to these key benefits:

  • Colony Elimination: Many methods only deal with the termites currently touching your home. Trelona goes back to the woods or the yard to kill the colony at its source.
  • Structural Integrity: There is no need for invasive measures. We don’t have to disrupt your landscaping or structural elements of the home to get these stations working for you.
  • Low Profile: Once installed, the stations are nearly invisible. They don't interfere with mowing, weed-eating, or the "curb appeal" of your home.
  • 24/7 Protection: These stations are always "on." They provide a constant perimeter of protection that is working even when I’m not there.
  • Eco-Friendly Precision: The system uses a very small amount of active ingredient targeted specifically at termite biology, meaning it doesn't affect the soil, your plants, or other beneficial insects like bees or butterflies.
  • Superior Palatability: Research shows that termites often prefer the Trelona bait matrix over the actual wood found in homes, ensuring they take the bait rather than your siding or studs.

The Bottom Line

My goal is to give you peace of mind. By using the Trelona ATBS, I’m not just putting a "band-aid" on the problem; I’m installing a high-tech security system that actively hunts down the threat before it ever reaches your front door.
